Tuesday: May 11, 2010 - Grant Workshop |
 |
We are planning a federal grant workshop, in collaboration, with various local and state agencies throughout the Upper Peninsula.
The all-day workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 11th, starting at 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. While the presenters will physically be located at NMU’s Mead Auditorium in Marquette, we are working with our local sponsors on setting up remote sites throughout the U.P. to help cut down on travel expense. Sites are being set-up at LSSU in Sault Ste. Marie, Bay College in Escanaba, Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, and Michigan Tech in Houghton. There may be a small registration fee that will cover the expenditures of offering remote sites and expenditures by our local partners. Further specific details will be forthcoming.
This workshop is targeting first responders, non-profit organizations, or governmental entities, who may be interested. We want to make sure that the word gets out there so folks can put it on their calendars. Please feel free to share with others besides the county commissioners.
Senator Levin has requested presenters from the following federal agencies: the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Education.
